We have a cellular data plan for sharing 30 GB/month over 20 devices. Is this an adequate amount of data for PubWorks Mobile?

It will be no problem using Mobile with a 30 GB/mo for 20 devices. Let's say your "database" is 50mb in size. On the 1st day, all 20 devices would use 1gb (20 devices x 50mb). After that, their use would be almost inconsequential.

Do you have a web-based option?

By |2017-04-13T17:32:25+00:00April 13th, 2017|

PubWorks does not have a "browser-based" option.  However, we do offer the full PubWorks suite in the Cloud with–PubWorks Cloud.  This is the same great PubWorks software suite offered in a Cloud Database.  What this means is that you can access PubWorks from any machine/tablet/phone connected to the internet with a sign-in.  If you still have [...]

We have a GIS department and have concerns about data security and data integrity. How will the MapViewer use our data. Will the MapViewer alter our current data?

By |2017-05-11T02:03:32+00:00April 13th, 2017|

The MapViewer offers two data connection modes: Read-only and Data Editing. In the Read-Only mode, data editing is not allowed through the MapViewer. The MapViewer can link to the following ESRI data storage structure (personal geodatabase, file geodatabase, ArcServer (ArcSDE)) without altering the GIS data. Does the MapViewer require additional licensing?

By |2017-05-11T02:04:20+00:00April 13th, 2017|

The MapViewer was built using ESRI’s ArcEngine platform and can use an existing ESRI Engine or desktop license. If an ESRI license is not available, you can purchase single use or concurrent license from your ESRI representative. Only workstations that will be using the MapViewer will require an ESRI license.

By |2017-05-11T02:05:26+00:00April 13th, 2017|

The MapViewer includes a data synchronization tool which will report data discrepancies. When new GIS features are added, our data synchronization will create new PubWorks records and automatically link to the new GIS features.

We use the PubWorks Service Requests module daily – how can the MapViewer benefit us?

By |2017-04-13T17:17:28+00:00April 13th, 2017|

The MapViewer greatly enhances the Service Requests module and can be used to verify specific locations and addresses. For example, if a caller cannot remember the exact name of a street but gives the intersection or general area, you can use the MapViewer to zoom in to the area and locate the street name or exact [...]
